Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why horses?Horses are prey animals and require clear, authentic leadership. Horses do not judge – they simply provide honest, constant responses to individual and or group energy, intention, and body language. Through our objective-based programs, we work alongside you, with our horses to build your leadership skills in the arena, providing unforgettable learning for life.
-
Do I need experience with horses?Absolutely not. Our program does not require you to ride a horse, so no prior experience is necessary. We always put safety first and we will accommodate your comfort level around the horses.
-
We live in Saskatchewan, what happens in cases of inclement weather? We have both outdoor and indoor arenas. However, extreme weather conditions can make the day unpleasant for both the horses and the people attending. In inclement weather conditions, we will work with you to reschedule.
-
Do I have to wear certain clothing?Although cowboy hats and boots aren’t required (but may add to the experience), we do have certain safety requirements when it comes to your clothing. Simple things like closed toed shoes and wearing comfortable clothes that you are okay with getting a little dusty.
-
What group sizes do you work with?Honestly, the group size really depends on what program you are taking and the services you are requesting. Please contact us to find out how we may accommodate your special group.

Are you certified & insured?Yes, I have two Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator Certifications. I am certified through Equine Connection – The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning and backed by The EAL Network, a leading organization in Equine Assisted Learning skills development. I am also certified by the EAL Academy. I received my certification in Amarillo, Texas. Together with my dual Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator Certifications, I have over 30 engaging programs I may facilitate, deliver and customize for you. R Connections carries extensive liability insurance coverage in both Canada and the United States to cover ourselves and our clients. A copy of our insurance certificate is available upon request.

Are all programs alike? No, the form of delivery always remains the same but the objective that you want to work on may change. Think of it like baking a cake. R Connections provides all the ingredients for you (outdoor arena, majestic horses, certified facilitators, learning experiences, beautiful rural setting, and a lot of fun)! Baking gives you the choice of what flavor to make, Equine Assisted Learning gives you the choice of the objectives you want to work on, ranging from: communication, building relationships, problem solving, mindfulness, leadership and so much more. All our programs are based on a specific objective; therefore, we will customize a program just for you based on the outcomes you want to achieve.

Need a little more information? Join us for a Meet and Greet or request a connection call.If you tell me, it is an essay. If you show me, it is a story. Like a lot of people, I am a visual learner, so I personally invite you to book a private Meet and Greet and see how Equine Assisted Learning may benefit you. During this visit, you will tour the facility, learn about the objective-based exercises, meet the team, and have an opportunity to learn about our engaging programs that we may customize just for you.
